What kind of art do you sell?
We sell open edition and limited edition reproductions.  All images can be printed on paper or canvas unless otherwise specified.  We also offer high quality custom mounting, matting, and framing to enhance your fine art.

Does the image on your site accurately represent what I will be sent?
All images have been proofed for color and are depicted as accurately as possible.  We realize that sometimes what you see on your monitor may vary slightly from what the actual image color that exists. If you are not satisfied with the print you receive you may return it within 15 days for a refund.

How accurate are the item dimensions on the website?
All items fall within a quarter of an inch of the stated size

What is a reproduction?
A reproduction is a copy of an original work. The end product of a reproduction is significantly parallel in resemblance to the form and elements of the original.

What is a giclee print?
Giclee (zhee-clay) is a French word meaning “to spray”.  Giclee prints have the highest resolution available today. As a digital method the prints have a higher apparent resolution than lithographs and a color range that exceeds that of serigraphy. Displaying a full color spectrum, giclee prints capture every nuance of an original and have gained worldwide acceptance from artists and galleries throughout the world.

What is an open edition print?
Open edition prints have no set number that will be printed.  The image may be printed an infinite amount of times.

What is a limited edition print?
A limited edition print will have a set number of times it will be printed.  Once the entire run has been printed the image will no longer be printed for any reason.  Limited edition prints tend to get more valuable as they reach the end of the edition.

What is a numbered print?
Numbering refers to labeling on a print that specifies its place in the order of its production within a limited edition.

What does “S/N” mean?
S/N is a symbol used to indicate that a limited edition print has been signed and numbered by the artist himself.

What is moulding?
Moulding is the wood or metal material used for framing a print or poster.

What is foam board?
A petroleum-based board on which artwork may be mounted or used as backing inside of a frame. This material is very light and comes commonly in white and black. Foam core is also available in an acid-free variety for conservation framing.

What is matting?
Mat board is a paper material that is used to accentuate a piece of art. Mat board comes in many colors and designs. Mats also protect the artwork from coming into direct contact with the glass and provide an aesthetically pleasing border to draw the eyes to the artwork. Mat board is available as acid-free sheets as well as rag board. These are used for archival or conservation framing. 

What is double matting?
Refers to the process where the artwork has two mats bordering it. When mats are layered in a frame, the top mat forms the main border and the bottom mat (generally 1/8" or 1/4") shows around the image.   Double mats are used to bring out the accent colors of an artwork and give the framed art an extra sense of depth.

What is a dust cover?
Craft paper is used to seal the back of a frame. This protects the picture from insects, dust and dirt from entering the frame from the back and damaging the artwork

What is a floater frame?
A moulding without a lip (rabbet). The moulding is cut to fit around a stretched canvas. Many floater frames have a "step" that separates the moulding from the artwork and gives the impression the artwork is "floating" in the frame.

What is acrylic glazing?
Acrylic glazing is a pane or sheet of plastic composite often used in place of glass where safety and weight are a concern.  Acrylic is much more impact-resistant than conventional glass and half the weight.

What is the maximum size print I can have framed?
You have the ability to choose a medium. If you choose to print on paper, the maximum framed size is 38x43. If you select canvas, the maximum size is 47x51.

What is the standard mat size used at Myriad Fine Art?
We use a standard overall mat size of 3.5” around with a .5” show around the image.  This is to show the artist’s signature.
